Dear Friends and Family,

This year at Monmouth, my peers and I are participating in a service learning project to help the Bridge of Books Foundation. This organization's main goal is to help give books to kids who cannot afford it. This cause not only supports a child's literacy skills, but also their love for reading. There are so many kids that are unable to own books, which ultimately affects their education and success in the future. About one in every four children grow up not knowing how to read. Can you imagine growing up without books in your life? Unfortunately that is the case for many children across the country.

Everyday, Bridge of Books works to give those less fortunate a chance to read. They have helped out many schools and agencies in New Jersey as well as joining in community events to promote their cause. Approximately 577,299 books have been donated to kids all throughout the state. Help fill these bookshelves with even more books for kids to enjoy. Every donation counts towards a child's happiness!

Books have the power to change lives - educationally, socially, emotionally and professionally. Unfortunately, there are still too many children today without books in their homes, schools and communities.
